Bell Canada, NEOnet and FedNor, with support from Project Chapleau, have partnered to
successfully deliver Sympatico High Speed Internet Service to connect three First Nations
communities (Chapleau Cree First Nation, Brunswick House First Nation and Chapleau Ojibwe First
Nation) using DSL technology.
With broadband access, the First Nations groups and the adjacent communities including parts
of Devon and Mulligan's Bay will now have similar capabilities as those in Chapleau and other
urban centres around the world. High Speed Internet connectivity will enable residential use,
but will also allow for increased access to health, education and economic development
applications. This includes the Chapleau Community Portal (www.chapleau.ca) for consumers,
business and institutions.
