The Chapleau Airport operates year round and is open for private flights to and from Chapleau. The airport features a 3000 foot runway and 5000 foot runway, capable of landing business jets. During the summer period, the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) bases its water bomber squadron at Chapleau Airport for dispatch to combat forest fires through much of Northern Ontario. Nortel, Bell Canada, and other companies have brought Charter flights to the Chapleau Airport.
