Enforcement

The possession/use of firearms and traps is prohibited in the Chapleau Crown Game Preserve. However, during certain times of the year you may obtain a permit to transport firearms through the Preserve. This permit has specific transport conditions and route directions that must be adhered to at all times when moving through the Preserve with firearms.

There are some bodies of water that have access restrictions on them and roads as well that are closed to vehicle use. Ministry of Natural Resources Conservation Officers patrol the Preserve on a regular basis.
