A World of Adventure!

For those interested in more than viewing wildlife, the Chapleau Crown Game Preserve offers diverse outdoor recreation with a true wilderness flavour. At the very centre of the Preserve, 88 km north of Chapleau, Missinaibi River Provincial Park provides some of the best camping and fishing found anywhere in Northern Ontario. The Park has 36 regular and 20 interior campsites, Pictographs, the old abandoned Brunswick House Trading Post site, and old logging camps, add to the experience of visiting Missinaibi.

Camping


Camping is allowed throughout the Game Preserve. However, non-residents except those using the services of a commercial outfitter require a permit to camp on Crown land.

Canoeing and Kayaking


The Preserve also takes in part of a provincial waterway park and several canoe routes.

Fishing


The lakes and rivers of the Preserve provide anglers with a variety and abundance of fish.

Winter Activities


Cross-country skiing, ice fishing, snowmobiling and winter camping are a few of the many activities possible during the winter months.

Chapleau is a centre for snowmobile traffic coming in from the South, West and East.
