RSS Feeds
|
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a web standard that allows a website to publish its content in a lightweight, compact format. RSS doesn't include the styles and formatting of a website - only its information. This information is transcribed in a file format is called XML, which many web services and Internet devices can understand. Many popular news, magazine, and blogging websites now offer RSS. Audio and video can also be transmitted as RSS feeds in what is known as "podcasts". What does this mean for web surfers? RSS allows them to "subscribe" to their favourite Internet news sources, which can then be viewed on a single page in a digest format using a special program or web-based service known as an "RSS reader" or "RSS aggregator". The Chapleau Community Portal is pleased to offer the following RSS news feeds for your subscription needs.
